Marbles

By Ellen Forney

It was great insight into how bipolar feels from the perspective of someone who has it. It’s a graphic novel, and my favorite kind too (the ones not constricted by boxes), and her art depicts both highs and lows of Bipolar I (full mania and depression cycle) very well.

It’s a vibrant story that also satisfies my passion for psychology because she structures her story chronologically around diagnosis, finding the right treatment, and ultimately finding peace of mind about balancing creativity and bipolar.

I think best thing about this novel is that I finally learned the difference between bipolar II and cyclothymia; because intuitively it seemed like the lecture we had on mood disorders left a huge gap. I’ve also picked up the stigma that Bipolar I means hospitalizations and psychotic episodes and a much higher degree of dysfunctionality… When in reality the lecturer was probably recounting the more memorable (most extreme cases) when we so briefly touched on it in class.

I really liked her artistic style. :)

What’s up tomorrow?
Probably learn circular gallifreyan,
Read:
– a very short intro on anxiety
– Margaret Atwood short stories !!
– Amnesty International Report 2009 ?? (I took it out because it had an attractive cover, yes).

I had a helluva great time reading tonight mainly bc tomorrow is Mondaay (dundunduuuun) so everyone except my dad’s asleep.

My grammar is horrible in this post and I’m all over the place, I know…

It’s been a while since I’ve really blogged… And I’m doing this on a phone ! :3

library haul

I actually haven’t spoken in so long that my language is sort of deteriorating…

as is my typing

because I generally only spend time “swyping” on my phone now…

BUT

yeah

.

I’ve hit a very new kind of low…

in life.
It’s always bugged me
when things were outside of my control
especially when
there are so many unnecessary and explained rules
that I *must* adhere to
that they eventually face *overlapping*…

& thus my defenses are taking over and

I do a lot of tumblin and liking

and angry text posts

and saving picture after picture

(yes, hoarding)…

because overall it numbs what I feel.

It’s better to work on a level ground

rather than be 3 miles underground

so I’m pretty proud of where I am.

but

there are things I want to do
people I want to meet
AND IDEAS I WANT TO TEST OUT

I hope soon enough,

I mean I WILL MAKE SURE THAT BY THE END OF THIS WEEKEND

I WILL CRAWL OUT OF THIS

-breathes deeply-

A bunch of things

– Matt Smith is leaving the dw family in 2 episodes! Will he be tripping over a brick before he regenerates into the infamously evil 12th regeneration? We’ll see– soon. (T.T)

– officially going to be hopping overseas for this summer ~ will be leaving in the 14th and coming back on the 8th of september

– finally finished the hunger games ! It was plenty of fun to read, but I must admit, I hated the ending. I’m really picky when it comes to endings, and this one was kinda disappointing. Maybe it’s a hint that I should read the next book ? Hmm maybe !
