My heart breaks a little when someone reblogs a titp post that argues that being acknowledged for having anorexia is better than dealing with obesity.

Think about it. Society is much more forgiving towards someone they label lazy than one that they label crazy.

They fight so hard to establish that people of all weights get eating disorders but they then flip around and tell people with anorexia that their diagnosis is privileged.

It breaks my heart because there’s a moral limit on telling those who are ill that they have it better. Especially a group that has dealt with stigma so much that so many rather believe and promote their illness as a chosen lifestyle than admitting to having the said “privileged” illness.
