Taking one’s chances is like taking a bath, because sometimes you end up feeling comfortable and warm, and sometimes there is something terrible lurking around that you cannot see until it is too late and you can do nothing else but scream and cling to a plastic duck.

Lemony Snicket

In other news, I feel stuck. I feel as though I should be moving forward and doing things I love and experiencing life and growing up and all that shit but instead the rest of the world is sprinting down the track and I’m left at the back barely 20 paces from the starting line. Or even worse I’ve turned around and started moving back towards the starting line.

If you have no clue what you want to do with your life in high school, you’ll be fine. If you know exactly what you want to do, you’ll be fine too. Just don’t be surprised if you find yourself feeling like this just isn’t for you, and that you really want to do something else. Bayview Secondary prepared me really really well for university. Back then, I thought had my path all figured out, and I thought I knew exactly what I wanted to do, even if that plan did change a couple of times. University though, threw me a challenge I hadn’t anticipated: It made me evaluate myself, and how I fit into the world in a way that I wasn’t really mature enough to do before. I’ve been presented with so many other possibilities and opportunities that I was unaware of beforehand, and I can’t wait to continue exploring and learning.
